The R.E.A.L Academy  begins 2019/2020 school year. The school begins at grades PreK - 6 though it will seek accreditation for  PreK-9 with the Ministry of Education of Liberia. The school will progress on a plan to add one grade level each year until the Academy reaches a full high school. Accordingly, the structure of  REAL Academy for Year 1 (2019/2020) will be as follows:

 

Rising Schoolers


Grade Level: K1 and K2.  Age Range: 3 - 5 years. Maximum Class Size: 20 students.

The program will be housed in a separate building.  Each class will have a teacher who will be assisted by a  resource assistant. The focus will be on the development of fine motor skills and early cognitive skills. Play will be used as an essential vehicle for the development of the intellectual capacity of the pupils at this level. The education program of this level will be customized for the pace and learning style of each student. A lead teacher shall coordinate the work of the educators and paraeducators of the Rising Schoolers House.

Early Primary Program


 

Grades: Grade 1 - 3. Age Range: 6 - 9 years. Maximum Class Size: 25 students. Each class will be taught by a teacher. In addition to the core teachers, a physical education and technology teacher will also be a part of the Early Primary Program. The teachers of the Early Primary will form an academic team and will hold meetings to coordinate the work and to ensure proper vertical and horizontal alignment of instruction. The Lead Teacher for the Early Primary Program will be a part of the Academic Leadership Team. The Program will be housed in a building separate from the other programs.

Upper Primary


 

Grades: Grade 4 - 6. Age Range: 9 - 14  years. Maximum Class Size: 25 students. Content specialists will serve as teachers for the upper primary level.  In addition to the core teachers, a physical education and technology teacher will also be a part of the Early Primary Program. The teachers of the Upper  Primary will form an academic team and will hold meetings to coordinate the work and to ensure proper vertical and horizontal alignment of instruction. The Lead Teacher for the Upper  Primary Program will be a part of the Academic Leadership Team. The Program will be housed in a building separate from the other programs.
